A time-line about Johannes Kepler
Childhood, School, and Death
-Johannes Kepler was born on December 27th 1571 at Weil Der Stadt, Germany
-When he was three years old he found out that he had a disease called smallpox, and lingered close to death for several month
s.
- His family was very poor but his intelligence earned him a scholarship to the University of Tubingen to study for the Lutheran ministry.
- Johannes Kepler unfortunately died on November 15th, 1630 at the age of 58 years old.
All about Astronomy
- Johannes Kepler was known for Kepler's 3 laws of planetary motion.
- He was a big part of the 7th century astronomical.
- In 1609 the astronomic nova was published.
- As an astronomy, Kepler thought that we are in a sun centered universe where all of the planets revolve around the sun.
-
He invented an improved version of the refracting telescope.
-Johannes Kepler obtained his B.A degree in 1588 and his M.A degree in 1591
- He invented the Keplerian telescope
- His first law was that the orbit of each planet is an Ellipse, and the sun is at one focus.
- His second law was that the line joining the planet to the sun sweeps out equal areas in equal intervals of time.
- His third and final law was that the square of the orbital period is proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis.
The picture below is the Keplerian telescope.
The picture above is called the ellipse.
This video below is mainly about the three laws of Planetary Motion
